Keeper signs contract extension until 2021

Eintracht Braunschweig have agreed terms on an extension of Marcel Engelhardt’s contract, which would have expired at the end of the current season, for three further years, until June 31st, 2021.

The 24 year old made the move to Braunschweig from TSV Havelse in 2013 and as initially in action for the Löwen reserves (Under 23). Since the 2015/2016, Engelhardt has been a permanent fixture in the professional squad. In total, the goalkeeper has made 100 competitive appearance in Blau-Gelb (1/’2. Bundesliga‘, 99/‘Regionalliga Nord‘).

„Marcel made the leap from the U23s into our professional squad. He always displays an exceptional attitude and maintains the pressure in training. We have every fate in his ability and he has proven the quality he possesses in the past,” emphasized Eintracht’s Sporting Director Marc Arnold.

„I feel very much at home here in Braunschweig and I see perspectives for myself with Eintracht in the coming years. My goal is naturally to claim a regular place between the posts,” commented Marcel Engelhardt upon signing his new contract.
